Diane Sotola is not only a voice teacher of exceptional ability, she is a sympathetic and thoughtful mentor who understands that there is more to a singer than their voice. She encourages her students through a supportive atmosphere and the use of positive reinforcement. Singers in search of an experience that far surpasses the ordinary could do no better than to find her.

I thought I had laryngitis and it turned out that I had paralyzed vocal cords. Through a journey of following Diane’s protocol of nutrition, health, and the mechanics of correct speech and singing, I now have my voice back. I also have a healthier body that feels better. I appreciate Diane‘s skill, patience and knowledge which has made a world of difference in voice and health for me.

I knew from my first lesson that I was in the right place. Diane is a master of vocal technique in the tradition of Garcia, Malabran, Dudley Buck, and William Miller. While working with her, I felt an immediate difference in my vocal production. Diane has the right ear to quickly assess what is going wrong in the instrument and fix it. Right away it, it was easier to sing. Diane teaches how to produce a “big” voice, so it can easily fill an opera house.
Diane nurtures the body, the voice, and your soul. At an age when most singers face retirement (age 52), my voice sounds better than when I was at Indiana University School of Music. I can sing more difficult literature with ease, legato, and NO warble!
Diane is the complete package in preparing you for a professional career. She is able to guide you in all aspects of your professional life from choosing auditions, literature, and creative ways to make money with your voice to singing in all languages, fashion, nutrition, and health.
Diane teaches the mind/body connection, which puts you in “the whim” so that you can be free to act and become the character. She knows how to protect and take care of your vocal cords. In all her years of teaching, she’s never had any student with any vocal damage. In fact, she is able to repair vocal damage. No one in her studio has ever had any vocal damage. No nodes, fissures, pain or discomfort and we can all sing beautifully.
